Wokingham's ecological footprint has been calculated at five times the actual area of the country. This means that five times the land area of Wokingham is needed to provide the raw materials, energy and food to supply Wokingham currently and to absorb the pollution and waste created.

Managed sustainably, people and businesses would derive even more benefits from natural resources than they do already– food, jobs, recreation, raw materials, energy, clean air and water. This is so long as everyone in Wokingham grasps the opportunities and understands the need to do some things differently in future – to live and work more sustainably.

We're looking for Sustainable Business Superstars! 

Perhaps you run a florist that only stocks locally sourced flowers? Maybe you run an SME that has gone completely paper free? Do you have a super active team that only walks or cycles to work?

Share your ideas and help other businesses put them into practice. 

There are a few ways to participate in this challenge:

1) Let us and the rest of Wokingham know what steps your business has made to be sustainable

2) Comment on other ideas

3) Vote on ideas you like, and help push them to the top. 

When we have finished collecting ideas, the top 5 will be invited to participate in a panel and offered a helpful grant.
